Directed by the great Orson Welles and produced by John Houseman, “The Cradle Will Rock” was scheduled to open on Broadway in 1937.

Two days before the opening the Feds shut it down at gunpoint.

The actors walked to another theater and did is anyway at great risk to their careers.
