So what’s the big deal?

Not only are insects known to carry dangerous parasites, but chitin (the fibrous substance that makes up most of an insect’s exoskeleton) is very difficult to digest and can provoke human innate immunity to flood the body with inflammatory cytokines, which can injure your internal organs.

If you aren’t already looking very closely at the ingredients on food labels, now’s a good time to start.
