Activists cased and then successfully broke onto a small FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania and uncovered a treasure trove of documents revealing the existence of an FBI political dirty tricks operation called COINTELPRO.
Astute people always knew that the FBI had such a department – it still does – but the details were never made so clear.
