Puerto Rico misery a profit center

The vicious Jones Act

Disaster capitalism at its finest

Even George Bush managed a “fly over” over New Orleans.

Not so for Puerto Rico. Trump took five days to even look up from from his Twitter account.

Over 3 million people and half still don’t have drinkable water and only 11 of its 69 hospitals have power.

Without power at the hospitals, the dead bodies will be stacking up daily. There’s just no other way to put it.

Per capita, Puerto Rico is poorer than Mississippi and thanks to the Jones Act, food costs there are twice as high as anywhere else in the country.

The reality is that Puerto Rico has been a cash cow for the US for decades and protecting the cash cow arrangements is apparently more important than getting aid their in times to save lives.
